Become a part of one of the largest highland dancing competitions in Canada and be one of over 300 dancers to compete during the day!


TIME:

Morning Registration – 8:00 am,  Morning Competition – 9:00 am

  • Primary:  Fling (4), Pas de Bas & PDB & High Cuts, Sword (2&1)
  • Beginner: Lilt, Fling (4), Sword (2&1), Seann Triubhas (3&1)
  • Novice: Lilt, Fling (4), Sword (2&1), Seann Triubhas (3&1)

Afternoon Registration – 11:00 am, Competition begins at 11:30 approx.:

  • Intermediate & Premier: Jig (4), Fling (4), Sword (2&1), Sean Triubhas (3&1).

ALL PREMIER GROUPS WILL BE AWARDED CASH PRIZES – AFTERNOON DANCERS COMMENCE WITH JIG

**This is a split day**

Dancers are asked to participate in the Massed Fling during Opening Ceremonies: 1pm


Awards

  1. Prize Money will be awarded to ALL Premier Classes.
  2. Overall Winner trophies awarded in all classes except Primary.
  3. Overall Runner-Up trophies awarded in all classes (except Primary) with more than 10 dancers.
  4. Medals awarded to all classes except as detailed above.
  5. Awards will be to two places less than dancers entered to a maximum of 6 places. * Up to 8 Premier Groups based on a minimum of over 8 entries per age group.

Competition Rules

  1. The competition will be governed by the rules of the RSOBHD and ScotDance Canada.
  2. This event may be cancelled at any time up to, and including on or during the date of competition, dependent upon public health concerns.
  3. All dancers must show their current ScotDance registration card.
  4. Age groups will be formed at the discretion of the Competition Committee.
  5. Dancers must dance in their own section and age group.
  6. Dancers will dance in reverse order of entry and must dance in numerical sequence or may be disqualified.
  7. Judge’s decision is final. No discussion can be entered into between a judge, a competitor or the parent of a competitor.
  8. Any complaint must be in writing with the complainant’s signature, accompanied by $35.00 and given to the Georgetown Highland Games Committee (prior to the end of the day) for consideration at their next Executive meeting. The fee will be forfeited if the complaint is not upheld.
  9. No change of status on day of competition.
  10. Change of status are to be emailed to the registrar no later than Monday June 2, 2025
  11. Entry fees are non-refundable.
  12. Dancers must be dressed appropriately at all times.
  13. Dancers and parents must respect the ScotDance Canada Risk Management Guidelines, local, Provincial and Federal health authority directives, and RSOBHD Code of Ethics.
  14. No phone entries accepted.
  15. Dancers over 12 must show their ScotDance Card at the gate for free entry. Children 12 & under are free.
  16. Morning awards will be presented after the Opening Ceremonies.
  17. Tents (without sides) may be erected in designated areas only.
  18. In the event of full rain, a rain facility will be provided.  See the Georgetown Highland Games Facebook Page for any announcements.

  • Primary: $26.00
  • Beginner, Novice: $32.00
  • Intermediate, Premier: $36.00

Administration Fees will be applied at checkout.
